Περιγραφή
Ready for an extraordinary journey through the history of armored vehicles? Its time to take your building block collection to the next level! With the COBI 7TP set, you can build a testament to courage, history, and technical passion, and recreate one of the rarest vehicles showcased in the Polish Army Museum!
7TP – Polands Response to the Challenges of War
The 7TP light tank was the most valuable armored vehicle of the Polish Army during the September 1939 campaign. It represented the ambition of a young nation that created a modern design based on the British Vickers tank.
The tank was equipped with a diesel engine, a Gundlach rotating periscope for improved crew visibility, a Bofors wz. 37 37 mm cannon, and a wz. 30 7.92 mm machine gun. Thanks to this, the 7TP could effectively fight both German Panzer I tanks and the more advanced Panzer II.
In terms of armor, the 7TP was only inferior to newer German medium tanks: the PzKpfw III E and PzKpfw IV B-C. However, these were significantly heavier vehicles (up to 20 tons) and in 1939 constituted only a small part of the German armored forces.
7TP Camouflage – Colors of the Polish Battlefield
From 1936, 7TP tanks were painted in the standard camouflage of Polish military vehicles. This consisted of irregular, elongated patches of gray-sand, dark brown, and olive-green, mostly applied horizontally with smooth transitions between colors.
Brave Until the Last Bullet!
Despite Polands rapid defeat in September 1939, the 7TP demonstrated its combat capabilities. Crew training played a crucial role. The 2nd Battalion, in particular, distinguished itself near Piotrków Trybunalski on September 45. In clashes with tanks from the German 1st and 4th Panzer Divisions, the battalion destroyed at least a dozen enemy combat vehicles, not counting other equipment.
The Only Example in Poland Recreated with Passion!
Today, no complete original 7TP tanks survive in Poland. The Polish Army Museum in Warsaw exhibits only fragments of a turret and chassis. In 2006, a group of military history enthusiasts from the Polish Military Foundation in Bielsko-Biała began reconstructing a 7TP using surviving plans and original parts. The full reconstruction was completed in 2011, and in December 2017, the tank was purchased by the Polish Army Museum for nearly 2 million PLN.
This reconstructed vehicle served as the model for the COBI building set!
What Makes the Light Tank 7TP Set Special:
- Scale 1:28 – Combines realistic appearance with a compact size, perfect for shelves, dioramas, or display cases.
- Museum Exhibit – Developed in collaboration with the Polish Army Museum in Warsaw, where the reconstructed tank is currently displayed.
- 669 Building Blocks – Precisely designed and manufactured elements that are durable, wear-resistant, and provide solid construction. Perfect fit ensures satisfaction for both beginners and experienced builders.
